Hello, I’m Corrie. Wife to Tom and Mom to four and one bonus kiddo. Three of my kiddos have graduated and my last one is home-schooled. I’m involved with women’s ministry at church where they often let me do the creative side of event planning. I love to empathize with new moms and hopefully encourage them in loving their families in practical ways.
My Style
I love to create custom-personalized photo sessions. I prefer the studio because I have more control over the experience, lighting, props and temperature, which makes for a more consistent outcome and keeps me from worrying about the weather.
Communication and advanced notice will be key to a detailed set up. Expect to be asked a ton of questions about nurseries, color schemes and favorites. I want the portraits to reflect you and your child. Once we start the session, I will try and let the child interact with the set, with some direction. I’m looking for natural and spontaneous reactions. We’ll try and “pose” a few, just for posterity.
I create many of my own backdrops and props, so you are sure to get custom set ups that highlight your unique and special child.
Why I Do This
Taking portraits of young children is a passion of mine. I hope to encourage moms by providing a tangible reminder of the preciousness of each stage of early life. In the middle of the sleepless nights, diaper changes, colic and spit up, you are witnessing precious miracles daily.
Savor this Moment!
Experience
All my life I’ve been preparing for this adventure. I’ve been an avid crafter and DIY-er since I was in high school. All of this has helped me develop an eye for color and composition. Seven years ago I started taking portraits of my own children. After my nephew was born, I was blessed to take his newborn portraits. I was smitten! (With both my nephew and the portrait session experience.) I borrowed a bunch of babies so that I could “grow” and I officially went into business in January 2014.
