This summer I took a class to help me with learning the business side of photography. I’ve learned a ton and have so many more homework lessons to work through. I’m a little out of practice on this school thing.
THANK YOU so much to all of you, for taking the time to fill out the survey. I am so grateful for all the input, suggestions and candid answers! I am determined to really listen to the responses and take the truths from them and make changes where appropriate to serve you all better.
I got a lot of positive feedback regarding the images capturing your children’s personality. (Yay!) Parents were happy with the variety of images offered. (WooHoo!) And people felt very comfortable with safety and interaction between the children and me. (Great!)
One thing that was suggested was to do more outside/lifestyle/family portraits. This one was mentioned more than once. Although it’s a valid idea, as I processed this, what I got out of it is, I really need to communicate clearly what I do and make sure I’m the right photographer for you and what you’re envisioning.
What do I do?
Studio photography, specializing in custom portrait sessions for children, in a creative environment.
I hope I can clearly communicate this in my correspondence, website and art. I love to create imagination engaging set ups and then capture the children interacting with the props and my world of make believe.
The other thing that was mentioned more than once was that digital images weren’t part of the session. I truly want to provide the best possible service and the highest quality product, but I also hope to give my clients what they are looking for. So I am officially announcing that Digital images are now included with the session fee. See details on my pricing page.
Where do we go from here? Well hopefully you’re ready contact me to book a session. But at least please check out the newly redesigned (but still getting tweaked) website and keep a watch for blog posts and newsletters that will encourage you as a parent, suggest ways to Savor This Moment, and help you get the most out of your portrait sessions.
